What initially got me intrigued about this game was the incredible atmospheric qualities surrounding the environment and the sheer sense of scale which, without a doubt, is compounded by the ambiant futuristic music. The combination of these elements does reall create a rather breathtaking sort of like neo metropolis where you’d take the reigns (so to speak) charging around in your mechanical warrior blowing the living shit out of everything that stands in your way, or at least I would assume so. Adhesive games has literally just announced the news of the game and is awaiting a launch date as it’s still in development. The video shown below is merely a work in progress of the game, but the thing that really scares the bejeebers out of me (and the reason im posting it to Design Dosage) is that it’s created by only 9 dudes, and so far only 9 months… Fu. King. Nuts.
“Hawken is a multiplayer mech combat game. The focus is on creating an intense and enjoyable battle experience that captures the feeling of piloting a heavy war machine while keeping the action fast-paced and strategic. To learn more see the game blog.”
“Adhesive Games is developing a new Mech Combat FPS. All clips in this video were captured from actual network game matches. The third person shots are from a spectator camera, gameplay is first person. We expect to release a first person gameplay trailer soon.”
